We are part of a holding company that has many companies beneath it. For many reasons we have employees that belong to a higher level company, but get paid from another company. So let's say we have Parent Company that owns 5 other sub companies. Payroll runs through the 5 smaller companies each week, but by default when we process W2's the parent company is printed on the W2 statement, not the sub company. We would like to have an override to allow for this within the portal. In the past we have deal with this by having a custom report that pulls the payroll company and uses that in W2 instead of the parent company(and we manually print and mail them out), this has worked great for us, but as we leverage the portal more and want to be electronic we need long term solution. We have a digital workaround now, but it will require us to maintain the solution, through updates on the portal (which is no fun).
