During open enrollment when we choose our benefit plans there is an option to 'KEEP EXISTING'. If selected it still charges the full benefit rate as last year but inactivates the dependents in Vista. Then dependents fall off the insurance plan as inactive.
There is a KB article that acknowledges this issue but says; 'This is working as designed as beneficiaries and dependents can change from year to year. Currently, HR Management does not support the functionality to auto-select beneficiaries when choosing to "Keep Existing". For more nuanced behavior or different handling, please submit an official Enhancement Request to our public-facing idea board, and our produce and development teams will review it.'
We need to either be able to hid the KEEP EXISTING button, or make the KEEP EXISTING button actually keep the existing dependents. This seems like basic common sense to me.
So here is my official request:
Please make the HR Benefits KEEP EXISTING button keep the existing dependents active in Vista. Otherwise give us the option to turn off the KEEP EXISTING button so that employees have to select the dependents manually.
The result of this is that the dependents are being deactivated and then dropped by the insurance companies when the employee is still paying the higher rate for the insurance. This is causing a mess and needs to be fixed. Our HR department is now aware of this issue and manually fixing hundreds of inactive dependents. But it is wasting a lot of time and resources.

We would love for there to be a portal setting that hides the "Keep Existing Plan".
We did not get any support from Vista. So we went to FiddleTree, the original makers of the portal. They created a SQL fix for this. Vista needs to get that fix and push it out to all users. Why would you click to keep the existing setup and then inactivate all the dependents. It makes no sense.
