W-4 Onboarding form; Allow either status and number of exemption or EXEMPT but not BOTH!

I am having issues where our new hires fill out the form incorrectly and it is not caught right away.  We should be able to program a block or an error if the employee fills out sections 3 & 5 claiming status and number of exemptions and then also checks the box in #7 to be filed as EXEMPT and no taxes.

Currently the system allows them to fill out BOTH.  We need a way to allow them to do one or the other.  Can we say that if BOTH are checked it throws up an error?

See attached live example.

I attached a copy of both the entry form and the final product.  The entry form makes it easy to check the exempt box when they do not really know what they are doing.  I would be looking for a warning if they fill out both.

I see this is shipped, but it looks like this functionality is not working any more. We are on Version 1.24.10.158

Just following up on this.  It has been since July and I have not heard anything new?

I figure that the new W-4 for 2020 has taken over the need for this fix by now.

Any updates on the W-4 for 2020 and if it will be posted on the onboarding profile soon?  We only have about 11 days left in the year!  I need to see it to learn it and train our hiring teams for each of our branches.  Time is running short...

Another issue, that may be a separate issue:  If we see that the employee has selected the Exempt box and also put in the number of exemptions it is obviously wrong.  But once the employee has hit the COMPLETED button to submit his packet HR cannot reject the W-4 to have him re-fill it out.  He cannot go back in and update it either.   I could not find a way to edit the W-4 once the employee submitted it?

Yes, making it so that if they enter a number in the #5 box (Number of exemptions claimed) then it would block the #7 Exemption box (Claiming full exemption and no tax held) would work fine.  99% of the time they don't want the exempt box checked. I think that they just check it because it is there.

Your solution would work fine for us!

If we disable the exempt field if an amount is entered, would that take care of the issue for you. Likewise, if an employee enters in exempt we will disable the amount declaration field. Let me know if this would take care of the issue.
