Our guys have suggested they would like a way to keep their people in a group that they don't have to search and re-select the same people every week.
I think having a "my crew" option would be a great to save guys time every week. Right now they have to select each person every week.
Or even the option to mark someone as a favorite and then their favorites show at the top of the employee list so they can quickly select their people. (this might be a better option since crews do vary a little bit week to week.)
If favorites where implemented I could see them being useful for jobs as well.

I haven't used this suggestion box very much so this might sound a bit naive, but what does "Shipped" mean?
Obviously nobody is yet planning to implement this suggestion, otherwise this idea would have been tagged differently.
Yes, this suggestion is focused on timecards. Can you make a separate suggestion for adding a Crew filter on the Time Off Dashboard?
Mark,
Just to clarify, what would be the separate issue to submit an idea on?
Is there one idea here for using "my crew" for time cards and another idea for using "my crew" for time off requests?
Thank you.
Hey Team,
We will be using PR Crews to allow Crew Timecard or Field Ticket users to add the employees in their timecards easier. We haven't planned using these crews for any approvals, but I think a separate suggestion would best to track that request.
Thanks again for all the feedback!
Right now we have employee groups set up for different supervisors to approve time off. Could this "My Crew" system be used for the same purpose? A certain superintendent approves time off for a certain crew or crews.
Weighing in here, while we don't use the functionality of Vista PR Crews, we do manage our crew assignments there and use it for purposes of SQL reports, queries, stored procedures, notifiers, etc. Would love to see PR Crews flow to the portal, but don't want to have to keep a separate list of crew members in the portal.
Thanks for responding so quickly :) I'll be sure to ask this group any other questions that come up during our development.
Hi,
We are not currently using PR Crews as we are using FTC for time entry which feeds into Vista PR. But in FTC we have the ability to create crews and assign employees to different crews managed by different people. This is something we have been requesting of Keystyle for some time and would help our transition off of FTC. I am happy to provide any other details you all need. Please advise. Thank you.

I agree with Juliana's comments. Crews are maintained by the field supervision entering time in our office. One foreman might have 30+ field personnel s/he is entering time for and does not have time to populate those names every single week in their crew. We also utilize the security setup regarding resources in FTC so that foremen only have access to the resources we give them access to. As in, a Field Supervisor can see anyone assigned to a field department (or fab shop, warehouse, etc.), but they would not be able to see any resources assigned to operations, VDC, estimating departments. We are not using PR Crews in Vista.
I echo Juliana's response. The pre-load works most of the time, but there are situations where just loading the crew would be best.
We are not using PR Crews in Vista since we technically dont have any set crews; however, we would like to have a superintendent be able to set his crew so that the employees that work with him regularly are "preloaded" or available. That way he doesnt have to search in the grid or scroll through all the employees. This also needs to have the option to add a one off employee to the list that worked with him that week. Look at what Field Time Console was doing with crews. It was a user based employee group, maintained by the employee. Maintained as in adding and taking people off of his group from the employee master.
Hi Team,
We are currently exploring the idea of adding crews to the Field Management portal timecards and Field Management mobile. We had a question regarding your different uses of crews. Are you mainly using crews as a way to pre-load timecards with a set list of employees or are you also tracking the crews through the crew field on PR Timecard Entry? How many of you are currently using PR Crews in Vista?
I appreciate all the feedback you can share!
Thank you,
This is super important! While I do like the feature of searching for the employee, it would be very helpful to be able to create personal crews while still allowing you to see or enter time for employees in the global list. The crew lists would be personal to the user so they would be maintained by each user. This is more specifically helpful when you have users that are not super tech forward that just need to see the bare minimum, having them see the whole employee list gets confusing and overwhelming and trying to teach them to clone is even worse.
We have been trying to transition from Field Time to Keystyle over the past several months. This issue is by far one of our biggest complaints and pushbacks we receive from the field.

We implemented time entry for field personnel using Field Time Console in 2018 and then learned at the Viewpoint User Conference that same year that FTC would no longer be enhanced. Our company is seeking out other options, however this issue is one reason we have held off on transitioning to Keystyle. We also need the ability to manage the projects and phase codes the foreman can charge to other than making the phase codes inactive in Vista.
FWIW - I created a work around for this using the daily huddle feature. We found we can keep a "stagnant" daily huddle in a huddle category that is specific to the targeted "crew". Then the foreman can add / remove employees to the huddle, Then there is an employee group using "SQL Choices Override" to build the dynamic employee group based on whose listed in the huddle. It's not what huddle was intended for, but it was the best work around we could come up with. Contact me directly if you'd like more details (pat.weichel@centuryci.com).
Most common request anytime training Operations on Keystyle time entry. They want to be able to pull in "their guys".
Maybe they could use the PR Crews form/program in Vista to hold this information?
I have never seen the option to copy from a different week before. When on a new week I have only seen the days to copy from the current pay period.

Do they currently clone from a previous week? This should automagically copy employees and phases from the previous week.
