Once a user has unsuccessfully entered their password to the point of being locked out, it would be great if the login prompt would tell them that they're locked out. Right now, they only get the incorrect password error, with a generic message telling them they might be locked out, forcing them to check their email to see if they're actually locked out or not.

In Addition, a count-down to help the user know they are about to bump up against the allotted login attempts. Formula could be based on the Portal Settings of how many attempts they get - 'x' to start the warnings (example: you are 2 attempts away from being locked out)
A separate error message for lock-outs would help avoid significant confusion for employees, perhaps it could even be customization to include a contact number or email they should use to get unlocked in case the administrators are not watching their email closely.
