When you import credit card transactions using the "Credit Card Import", it asks for a transaction description and notes field. Later when these are matched with an already existing Expense created by a regular user, this description and notes fields are being overwritten with the description and notes from the Expense. There needs to be a way to preserve the original description/notes from credit card import when the transaction ultimately arrives in Vista AP Transaction Entry (in a line note, line description, or new udfield set up to house this info). Why is this important? Because accounting needs to be able to have a safe field to house important transactional info (like name of underlying merchant) that can't be destroyed by a regular user who doesn't understand the importance of entering that information or who may leave it blank (which overwrites as a blank description in Vista).
Side note: I beleive it was actually working this way about a month ago, but something in the coding has changed and credit card import description/notes are no longer being preserved upon posting in Vista. What is the point of these columns in the credit card import if they simply get erased?
