Add SM to PO Quick Create

We have a service division and they have the need to create PO's on the fly from the field.  We use the SM Module for our service work orders and at this point we are unable to use PO Quick Create for our PO's.  Being able to assign a quick PO on-site in the field would save us a bunch of time.

The answer is part user type and part consistency, plus it is simply longer in PO SM Creation.  The PO SM creation tool is seemingly not a lot more work on the surface but the interface is "landscape" and 2-3 clicks of 'save' is required and then the attachments interface is a new window.  You must add a material item before you can save the PO back to the dashboard.  Additionally the "receiving" on/off option and Submit PO is something our Foreman are not going to be able to understand or care about on the fly.  Further, our construction department is trained to use Quick PO as the interface is portrait (works nicely on a the phone which is where they will be using this) all information on 1 screen with a simplified interface for attachments such as the packing slip.  We have overlap of the same guys working on jobs as well as SM work orders and they won't remember 2 different methodologies for getting a PO.  Lastly SM PO Create is not an option when you do the drop down on Field Tools, you find that by going to the PO Dashboard > New Item > SM PO Create.  Quick PO was developed to issue PO #'s on the fly with minimal information required to be sent to the office to then fill in the details.  This is EXACTLY what SM WO's are and connection between the 2 is only natural.  To further this...  We are trying to use PO Requisition as well for our work and currently that only talks to jobs...  our PURCHASING procedures tend to be the same regardless of what department you are in, making all the PO modules/options working the same between jobs and SM is ultimately where this needs to go.  Relying on field techs to navigate workflow A for jobs and workflow B for SM is not realistic.  Hope this helps.

Can you help us understand how the quick create will be faster then the PO SM creation?
