An individual must mark whether Single, Married, or Married but withhold at a higher rate. Everyone is skipping this section. Please make it required. Also, the "worksheet is not on the following pages" it is in the link at the top. Can the instructions be updated to eliminate confusion? Please see attached.

Let's create a new suggestion for this. Please note that per the W4 rules they would still need to declare single, married, or married filing together.
I may comment on this and start a new suggestion.
It is rare but an employee may choose to check 'EXEMPT' and in that case they would not need to fill out the boxes for Single, Married, or Married filing higher.
But my issue is that I keep getting new hires that fill out the status us Single or Married and the proper deductions; but then they check the EXEMPT box also! This is causing issues because it carries over to VISTA as SINGLE 99 if exempt is checked. We will need a way to allow EITHER exempt or the status and exemptions but not both!
Does that make sense?
The exempt claim is a check box on the form. They need to enter one or the other but should not be allowed to check both without an error!
Hello again I noticed a similar issue with the I9 form. The new hire does mark their Citizen Status but it doesn’t show online for the Manager to see when they are completing Part 2, unless they download the form. Do you think the form can be corrected to show what they have marked, like you fixed the tax form?
Do you already have this issue on your radar? Should I submit a separate idea request for this?
Thanks,
Joanna M. Wright

Hi Joanna,
Thank you for clarifying all of this. I met with the dev team and have some great updates. First, users that fill out the W4 are required to fill out the fields, but the fields do not show values for the admins unless the W4 is downloaded. We have corrected this and it will appear in our next release. We also updated our verbiage per your request above.
Thank you for letting us know how we can improve. Your comments and willingness to work with us is what makes this product awesome.
Cheers
No, sorry for the confusion. The specific wording is what is confusing. Since the wording says “on the following pages” new hires look for additional pages after that first page, but there are no additional pages that follow. They need to click the link at the top to find the worksheet.
We just want the words to say “using the link above” rather than “on the following pages.”
Does that make more sense? Call me if it’s easier to just talk. Thanks!!

Are you hoping to see the worksheet on the web instead of just on the pdf? Thank you for helping me get this clarified. I love working with you!
Sure! On the attachment I have circled the section in red that refers to “worksheet on the following pages” but the worksheet is not on the following pages, the worksheet can be found in the link at the top (which I’ve also circled in red). Does that help?

Thanks for sending this in. We are planning on making the fields required. Regarding the form, I see all the W4 pages. Can you clarify your request?
