According to the USCIS, "The system creates a secure and permanent record when an individual creates, completes, updates, modifies, alters, or corrects an electronic file. This record should include the date of access, the identity of the individual who accessed the electronic record, and the particular action(s) they took."
The portal should provide a way employers can update section 2 (for example, if they enter the wrong driver's license number) within the portal, not by downloading the I9.

Haha I try to leave voting up to customers 🙂 Happy to talk through workflow with you/ anywhere you think we're out of compliance.
We removed the supplement B last year because it was causing confusion for customers on when to use/not use so we give the option to fill out a new i9 instead (this option is in compliance with the USCIS). If you want to use the supplement B you can upload one in the onboarding tasks.
I'm not sure what you mean about translator page, we have the translator section - Supplement A: Preparer and/or Translator Certification included in the document.
If you want to discuss this further feel free to email me at Kellie_medeiros@trimble.com
Thank you!
@Kellie Medeiros I love that you're trying to solve this problem with us! I just tested the Update I9 Button and it seems to disappear after an employee is initialized. What if someone didn't realize they put the wrong SSN? Or what if we were given a receipt for a verification document that was just ordered - how do we note that on the I9 and then update it once the verification document is received and reviewed? I also noticed, and it may be different for your company, that we only have the I9 page. Where is the translator page or reverification page? When it's time to reverify an employee's documents, where do we put that information? These are all very concerning issues to me, especially when any box that is incorrect on an I9 could be a $288.00 fine! VP has the I9 audit function, they're just missing some essential features to be 100% compliant. It would really help if you'd vote with us :)
Hi Taylor, does updating the I9 using this button in the screenshot not accomplish what you're looking for?
@Kellie Medeiros That function returns the I9 to the new hire. While that is helpful, it is not what I'm asking for. If the employer (you or me) makes a mistake, we need to be able to edit the I9 accordingly. I want an edit button for section 2, not 1. Hopefully VP realizes this is essential for electronic storage of I9's - they have a beautiful audit function in place already, so fingers crossed!
Hi Taylor, this exists today. I'll attach a screenshot for reference.
