The ability to clone time from a full previous pay period currently exists, and I would like to request an addition/modification to this functionality: a single additional dropdown which would allow us to specify the Template corresponding with the Pay Period. Our company has to post time every single week, but we only process a full payroll every two weeks. Because of this, when we attempt to clone the entire pay period, it copies over dates from the "week 1" template as well as the "week 2" template. This in turn messes up the validation process, and no employees can submit time, as the system is confused thinking there is still unallocated time from "week 1."
If we could specify a Template, then we could select the Pay Period we wish to clone from, and select the specific Week 1 or Week 2 Templates. That way, it would not clone extraneous dates, and we would not run into the issues with validation. Currently we are having to do a workaround which involves cloning each individual day of the week, which takes about... well, seven times as long as the normal "clone entire pay period" option would take.
The sooner we could get this fixed, the less time would be wasted and the easier our lives would be. This has caused hours of additional work already, including working with Viewpoint (case number 1628207) in order to try and resolve the validation issue.
