I think it would be helpful to have certain boxes be required dependent on answers to previous questions in the Employment Application. Currently, for example, we have a question that says "Are you a relative of anyone at the company?" and the subsequent question is "If yes, please list who, if no please write N/A" and instead of having everyone write N/A in a bunch of different boxes, if the box were to change to required if the person says "yes" to the first one would be very helpful. We are finding that a lot of applicants don't write N/A in every box and get pushback when trying to submit their application. I think this interface is especially hard on a phone where I imagine a good amount of laborers are applying from.
In general I think this would be helpful to ensure that you gather the correct information from the people you need it from and omit it from the people that it doesn't apply to based on the person's answers to previous questions.
