Description:
Currently, the phase drop down menu on the Crew Grid Time Card cuts off long phase descriptions, making it difficult for employees to select the correct phase. This requires them to manually look up phase codes on a separate printout, which is inefficient and user-unfriendly.
Proposed Improvement:
Widen the phase drop down menu to display the full description of each phase. This can be achieved through a simple code adjustment.

Increased Efficiency: Employees will be able to select the correct phase quickly and easily, saving them valuable time.
Improved Accuracy: By having the full description readily available, employees are less likely to choose the wrong phase, leading to more accurate data collection.

I was able to achieve this widening of the drop down menu using the web inspector tool. This suggests a relatively straightforward fix for a skilled developer.

Sam, does this mean that right now you are seeing the longer descriptions on phase codes? This is definitely an issue we have at our company as well. The problem for us, is that people are just randomly picking codes then because they can't see the full description. Our guys are running into issues when they go to do their projections. My one IT guy that deals with most of Vista/Portal stuff, is pretty handy with making changes, wondering if yours is working how you want it, and then I'll share with him the attachment you included.
