Hello, we are in the heavy highway construction industry and manage diverse crews such as Dirt Work, Concrete, Asphalt, Office Staff, Haul Truck Drivers, Mechanics, Fuel Service Trucks, and Mobile Mechanics. As we transition from the Powertrack system to Viewpoint's Vista Employee Portal and timekeeping system, we've identified several areas needing improvement for optimal functionality.
We appreciate the bulk clock-in feature of the Field Management Application, but find the allocation process inefficient as it requires switching screens to view all employee times. The Grid Time Card allows for bulk actions but lacks the necessary flexibility for our specific requirements, particularly due to operational needs and compliance with labor laws regarding remote clock-ins. Environmental durability is also a concern for using actual physical kiosk mode devices in field conditions (South Texas).
We propose enhancing both the mobile kiosk and Grid Time Card with a feature that allows selecting a crew to display only active crew members for clock-in. This would simplify time entries when employees switch jobs or phases and would help supervisors manage time more effectively. Additionally, could we consider a portal setting that enables such specific clock-in functionalities while restricting remote clock-ins for the Grid Time Card? Furthermore, adding job and phase options directly to the Bulk Clock-in on the Grid Time Card would greatly aid in creating time entries without the need to navigate away from the main page.
Attached are examples illustrating the requested changes for the Web Kiosk and Grid Time Card. We believe these enhancements will streamline our time management processes and enhance operational efficiency in Viewpoint's Vista system for our diverse construction environments.
