This new update for the expenses is like 1 step forward and 3 steps backward.
Reviewers can no longer edit the description or notes on an expense. This is such a useful option. My company uses it when an actual receipt is not attached, we add "No Receipt" to the description so that we can track it after the fact and use it for training or disciplinary items.
Approvers can now no longer see the coding for the expense items on the expense approval screen without clicking on each transaction and expanding it. Not sure why taking out that information and adding the CC information is useful to approvers at all.
Approvers also can't see the approval chain for each transaction without expanding each individual transaction. Our credit card admin use this step to see where the approval process is and to send out reminders to reviewers.
This new update has added I would say hours to my expense admin's monthly process now and also added 10s of minutes to the approver's process. This may not seem like much, but when we are trying to be as efficient as possible this adds up.
Please reconsider the older expense approval screen or some other changes. I would say you can take out the CC Transaction, CC Last Four and even the Package section so that we can still see all of the coding information in a grid like format.

Hi everyone - with the recent updates to expenses, we can now edit expense descriptions and see coding on one line rather than drilling down.
I'm going to mark this as shipped.
Jay - if you want to put in a different suggestion for you notes idea that would be great.
Thanks,
It would be great if the notes field could be added to the GL line set up in AP Company parameters. Those comments could be seen as the detail on the GL monthly review.
Having to open each transaction to verify the coding is correct....very time consuming.
Please allow the editing of the transaction date as well!
I get the comments to go back - but given the re-architecture of the tables, that isn't a viable path. But I agree with the sentiment, too much extra time imparted on users now.
Yes to all keep it simple and efficient.
Hello everyone! We are working on bringing back the ability to edit the expense description and being able to see the coding without using the drop down arrow.
Thank you for your feedback!
I agree to stay with what worked before.
Yes to all of this. Just go back to how it was - expenses and expense posting.
Same here, our approvers hate it.
I agree, the new way to see and edit coding for each transacation is extremely time consuming.
