Open Enrollment is effective Jan 1 each year. New Hire Benefits are effective the 1st of the month following hire. Therefore in November, we have employees completing enrollment for new hire (Effective Dec 1) and also for Open Enrollment (effective Jan 1). The system does not allow mulitple windows to be open at the same time. So if an employee completes their new hire benefit process then submits a QE request for Open Enrollment and we have not yet approved the first submission, the second submission overrides the first. Same thing happens with individuals with QE's during that timeframe. We need to allow multiple Benefit Enrollments to be open at one time. We understand Vista is a single field and will update accordingly which is fine. We would approve/post whichever is effective first then not approve the additional until it becomes effective.
