The direct deposit feature for employees is great, but we would love it if we could have new hires enter their Direct Deposit info during the onboarding process. Would it be possible to add that in?

Also, making DD a required area, if enabled, basically made adding this a moot point until we can get it set as optional. Please, please, don't take the 3+ years that it took for this to be implemented.
Someone created a suggestion to make direct deposit optional. Please go vote on it please! There's no way for us to know who wants DD setup before onboarding, so making 2 separate profiles won't work.

To be honest, we made our own Direct Deposit form a long time ago. It is optional and is added to all our profiles. So we likely will not turn on the official new form. We will keep our current form and process.
But if someone else wants to submit the suggestion for the official form to be optional I will vote it up.

The Direct Deposit information should be reviewed before the new hire record is initialized to Vista. Is this something your Onboarding Admins can add to their process?
We currently require all of our enabled standard onboarding tasks to be required. If you would like this to be optional, can you add a separate suggestion for that?
If you post it here, other customers can add their votes to it if they need it to be optional as well.

The direct deposit form would need to be optional. If we hire 20 guys today which ones will need direct deposit? We do not know who wants direct deposit when the invite is sent out. It should be the same profile regardless of the direct deposit but the direct deposit should be optional.
Plus we have had employees mistype the account numbers. Our payroll department does not want to load the direct deposit information until they see the printed numbers from the bank, not just the employee entered numbers. Is there an option to APPROVE before loading into Vista? -It is a nightmare when that first check hits the wrong account!

This task is only required if it is enabled on the Onboarding profile. You can create an Onboarding profile where it is disabled and one where it is enabled.

How do we allow the new Direct Deposit in Onboarding to not be a required step? Not every single employee uses direct deposit. I want to be able to allow them to opt-out during onboarding.
Yes, this is now available in our 22.3 version of the portal. This will require that you push new hire to Payroll through the web portal which is now an option with the new "Initialize New hires to Payroll" portal setting. I just got notification that this was changed to "shipped". This has been added to the onboarding process? That's excellent news! I'll have to update our portal sooner than later!
Thanks Mark. Can we please ensure that this is built on a flexible approach so that it can be adapted for other items. A great example here is the requirement for all construction workers to be Covid-19 vaccinated in parts of Australia. Ideally we should be requesting the vaccination certificate as part of the onboarding process prior to actual commencement.
Also happy to test or validate anything if the dev team requires.
This is so important in Onboarding that we had custom work done by Viewpoint to implement along with quite a few other must haves. If you can't wait for the item to actually be included in standard, you can have it done.
Thanks for posting Lynn and the reply Mark. No offense intended, but we're 2 weeks away from being 3 years since it was first added as a suggestion. It's why we rarely bother putting in suggestions any longer.
Hopefully it'll get pushed forward and implemented in 2022.

Excellent Mark! Adding this would be great.
My PR department would want to make sure that the backup is attached and that the employee entered numbers get verified before interfacing to Vista.
Currently we built our own form for this and our HR department reviews it and makes sure that it has all needed attachments and backup before interfacing to Vista and sending the form and backup to PR.
