Currently the call type field can't be made required when creating a new work order in Field Service.
We are using the call type to specify Tracking WIP and found that work orders in an open status that have the call type left blank are not being distributed to the correct GL's.
We are allowing technicians in the field to be able to create their own work orders and this field currently is not required in Field Service but it is required in Vista.
If we can have the option in portal settings to make this field required in Field Service this would eliminate our issues with any GL reporting.

As the Senior GL Accountant for EC Electric, I need to ensure that work order costs are properly capitalized to the WIP accounts as they first come in. Then, when the work orders are completed, those costs move from WIP to the P&L. Right now, costs for WO's without a call type are going straight to the P&L, which requires manual journal entries to fix.
Making the call type a required field ensures that the costs flow properly, without putting additional burden on the field personnel or the accounting department.
We really need to be able to default this setting to minimize the risk of issues in the GL. Our workflows need this to happen soon!
