We’d like to enable the QR Coding function within Vista/Field Service. The intent with the QR Coding is to have technicians add the specific pieces of equipment to the Work Orders to give better customer feedback to the specific equipment. Typically when we receive calls, the customer does not know the specific equipment. Once on site, our techs then identify if it is RTU #7 or AHU #36 that has the issue. If they are able to scan the QR code to enter that as the “Service Item” on the work order we’ll be able to have better equipment maintenance records.
We'd also like them to be able to scan the service item and bring up the history of the item.
Initially, we may have some techs that have the ability to add this. They’ll add the QR Code, add the equipment info and any other needed info. This may be an all or none function which we’ll work through. Hopefully we can set it up that if they don’t have the QR Code they won’t be able to enter the Brand, Model # or Serial #.
