We would like the ability for the portal to round to the nearest time interval rather than only rounding up. So if an employee clocks out at 5:07 it rounds to 5 and if 5:08 it rounds to 5:15. We would like this for both standard and crew timecards

Portal function described by Mark is not practical in the real world (we would payout 100's if not 1000's of extra hours per year). Having the round time function as described in the original post would be helpful.
I would love it exactly the way Deborah Richardson stated. Round to the nearest 15-minute interval.
We would like to have the ability to set a rule where an employee clocks in at or before the seven-minute mark within a 15-minute window (e.g., 8:07), their time rounds down (to 8:00). If the employee clocks in after the seven-minute mark, their time rounds up (to 8:15, in this case).
We are using FM Offline Kiosk and Grid Timecards. When adding lines in Grid Timecard and splitting the hours between multiple phase codes the odd times are awkward.
This recognizes that not all employees can clock in exactly on the hour and are not penalized for waiting in line to clock in/out.
Hey Luke,
I was looking through our portal settings and we do have a round up function that will specifically only impact the timecard lines that are generated from time clocks. "Round up Time Worked initialized Timecard Lines to the following minute interval"
If you set this portal setting to 15, all time over a 15 minute increment will be round up to the next 15 minute increment. Do you think this will help for the time being?
We are still looking at how we would design this function.
Thank you
Hi Mark,
It is auto creating the lines when punching in and out. We would like to see the time of punches but have the timecard lines round accordingly. We would like it to the quarter hour but you might consider flexibility in case other clients round to the different intervals. Feel free to give me a shout direct if you need some clarification or would like to see our setup.
Thanks much!
Hi Luke,
If you are using the Time Clock in the portal, the Time Worked grid that this populates is used across both the Standard and Grid Timecards.
Are you currently having the employees or foreman build out the timecards to match the clock times?
Or are you using the option to auto create timecard lines?
Do you only need rounding based on 15 minute intervals?
Thanks!
