We would find it beneficial to be able to reserve the resource number for an onboardee.
Our current onboarding process relies heavily on the employee number. Being able to "hold" the employee number would allow us to pre-assign assets (ie: phones, laptops, desktops, etc.) in preparation of the employees expected hire date. Additionally, this would allow for tasks such as the I9 or W4 Step 2 or other tasks required on employees start date to be completed in person. The current process does not allow editing of those required documents or submission of additional documents after the onboardee has been initialized.
This option would prove to be exceptionally helpful in the event that the potential new hire does not complete the onboarding process, doesn't show up on first day or process is halted for other reasons (ie: background, drug testing, etc). Should one of these scenarios apply the employee profile can simply be noted and archived in the portal without a record actually being created in Vista and assets can be reassigned. I have attached an example for placement.
This field could additionally serve as a placeholder for the auto generated HR Resource number when initializing in vista. Allowing the new hire resource number to be input into the HR Resource Number Field and an actual rehire resource number to be input into the rehire field. Currently all initialized resource numbers, regardless of new employee or true rehire, is being placed in the "Rehire Employee" field.
