When crew clock out for lunch and back in, sometimes is it short of the mandatory 30 minutes. Then Payroll staff have to go back in and correct their punch times.

I believe that legally you need to allow them to clock in when they start. By not allowing them to clock in until after 30 minutes have passed you are opening yourself up to allegations that you made them work off the clock. I get that you want them to take a full break. But I know that mandating it like this would not work for most places. I have seen it at other places and it caused more problems that it solved. I am not a fan of this. But I suppose that it could be an option?
Hi Karen,
Are your users clocking in from the login page, the navigation bar, or one of the portal web kiosk pages?
Thanks!
Would be great if the user trying to punch in can get an error message that it has not been X minutes since they punched out.. where the X equals the amount of minutes we specify in the portal settings. Would be nice if we can tell them they still have N minutes until they can punch in, or maybe the time they have to punch back in. Even better if we can also display the time they last punched out..
