Allow for hiding of Phase Code number for timecard Entry

I would like to create a custom user defined lookup that allows me to hide the Phase Code number but still save the Phase Code in Timecard Entry. The field becomes incredibly long having to have both when users don't really care about the number. I have tried to do a user defined lookup and assign in PR Timecard Entry but it errors out as Vista tries to put the Phase Name in the field and not the Phase Code. I'm sure this is mainly a limitation of Vista but if UniHub could read the user defined field and use the "Hidden" box but still put the first column in the field that would be idea.

Sorry @Mark, maybe I was not clarifying. I have a udlookup that works in PR Timecards but not in the portal. The Phase is the lowest sequence number so that is returning to the PR Timecard phase field but when you look at the lookup you only see the Description. That is because the custom user defined lookup is utilizing the "Hidden" for Phase. However it appears the Keystyle portal is showing both and does not read the "Hidden" checkbox in User defined lookups. Can the KDS stored procedure be modified to read this checkbox?

Hi @Mark - no the ud lookup is returning more values than just 1. You can see from the attachment above. When you hide the Phase Code and show just the Description Vista tries to return the description to the Phase Code field and it errors in the KDS portal when trying to save.

    Hi Kara,

Is the udlookup only returning one value successfully in the web portal? If so, you can go to Timecard or Grid Timecard Settings > the phase row > Advanced > and check the "Auto Select 1st" option. This should auto select the value if only one is returned. Once this happens successfully, you can set this field to be read only.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

    Hi Kara,

We support making fields read only and if you can use a udlookup to limit the dropdown to one specific phase, you can use the auto select option. If this sounds like it will work for you, can you reach out to our Professional Services team so they can help you write the proper lookup? https://support.viewpoint.com/s/submit-a-case?defaultCaseType=ProfessionalServices

    Thanks!
