We noticed that folks can hand enter non-existent job and phase numbers. The line appears to save correctly but upon inspection the invalid job/phase is not saved and the timecard line is saved as an "Overhead" line (job with no job number). Would be great if the job/phase was validated as postable to the user before they save the line. We foresee one getting through the cracks and not being able to pass validation through Vista's Timecard Entry batch posting process. We are in implementation now and noticed the anomaly since our field guys are so used to just punching in job numbers and phases.

I'm not sure if this will solve your issue, but in the help documentation, there is a section on creating custom Timecard Lookups. This was useful to us. For example, we now only show phases which have the labor & burden cost types set up & active.
