For 3 years now, the expense posting dashboard date filter has been based on invoice date. It was recently changed to submission date.
This is not an enhancement, but actually a setback for us, as we reconcile Keystyle against a list of approximately 300 transactions per month. We find and post transactions by matching our credit card transaction date and amount against Keystyle transaction date and amount.
Besides the fact that submission date is useless to us (for our reconciliation), it is also highly arbitrary, unlike the objective and immutable transaction date, and probably breaks the reconciliation process for other accountants who have company credit card programs to reconcile.
Most importantly, please understand that while I understand that many people voted that they would like to filter on submission date, I highly disagree with taking away the invoice date functionality that already existed for so long. To be an enhancement, these should not have been mutually exclusive, but instead the user should have been given the option to have either or both. A better solution would have been a second set of date filters on the dashboard, or a portal setting for "S" for submission date or "I" for invoice date. Plus, I don't think there's anyway for you to know how many users were already happy with how it worked vs the number of people that voted on submission date. You may have ended up with a feature that only a minority of your users like.

I completely agree with Matt and would add that it would be useful to also label the date field in the grid as expense date. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out why we were suddenly getting strange results with the search. Simple labels of submit date and expense date would have helped immensely.
Thanks Mark!
Hi Matt,
Thanks for adding this suggestion!
We'll be adding a portal setting so you can choose which dates you would like to sort by.
I would like to add that this makes sorting a nightmare as we have people entering receipts as they come in, and others enter during reconciliation. So If I have a sort date from the beginning of the cycle to the current date, I have transactions that were already reconciled, with the previous cycle, mixed in with new transactions that need to be reconciled, and it takes much longer to sort because I can't omit items that are old. PLEASE FIX IT ASAP.
