In Vista, when PR Craft Templates are in use, PR Timecard Entry automatically updates any crafts to be the 'reciprocal craft' when necessary. However, in HFF, the employee's craft remains what it is at the PR Employees level. There's currently a lookup provided by Viewpoint to help this, but it still forces an employee to manually choose their craft based on the crafts available to that project and still has room for manual error (in my use, at least). If reciprocal crafts were able to be chosen automatically, it would cut down on entry errors and processing time.

I think so, I'll relay this to the client and ask them to follow up here or work to commission a custom lookup that takes everything into account. Thanks!
Hi Seth,
You should be able to adjust the craft lookup so it is limited down to one craft if there is logic to base this on. If there will always be the need to adjust the class, they will need to make sure it is not read only. With the setup mentioned, does this work for your customer the way they need it to?
Thanks!
Hi Mark, Mikhel filled me on on how reciprocal unions are used when the craft/class fields are not shown, so I now realize that it's not like there's no support for this (sorry if I made it sound that way in the original idea). When I had the lookup working, the 'auto-select first' item wasn't working the way a client needed it to, particularly because they couldn't have it 'auto-select first' and be 'ready only' since they still needed to potentially change the class after the craft is auto-selected (they have equipment operators who are paid different rates based on the type of equipment in use). If I'm still misunderstanding something please feel free to reach out and correct me, I'm never going to rule out that some user error isn't at play...
Hi Seth,
Typically when these lookups are used, there are setup to "Auto-select first" and "read only." This way the user doesn't have to do anything. Does this work for this use-case?
Thanks!
