It is critical for Recruiters to be able to read through hundreds of applicants and their resumes quickly.
The ability to view the applicant record and their resume in one screen would be ideal for this process; kind of like a view of the record and a preview of the resume allowing the user to read both in their entirety.
Alternatively, we attempted to add various plugins to our Chrome browser (we use G-Suite), and were unsuccessful to make the plugin work for file attachments of .doc and .docx to work.
We were able to make .pdf file formats to open in a new browser tab simply by configuring the browser.
We are reluctant to ask our users for only that file format but may have to.
The one extension that proved promising was "Docs Online Viewer".
It seemed to work as desired when testing it: "test filetype:doc" in the browser.
But the extension did not read files in ATS and so .doc and .docx would download first.
This is unacceptable behaviour.
The user must be able to view both the applicant record and the applicant's resume at the same time, ideally in the same screen or alternatively two separate browser windows.
