Moving from Field Time, which was fabulous, to Field Management for PR, we have found that it feels like we went backwards a bit instead of forward. The FT Console provided not only total hours for each employee, but also showed when they had time entered on other jobs. This was a big plus because when 2 supers are sharing a few guys, it prevented them from accidently paying them twice for a single day. Also, having crews of 150+ men and not having any capability to see the Total Hours presents opportunity for mistakes that could have been caught if this was present. Not only is it not present on the grid, it isn't even present in the report. A superintendent would have to export the report and then do x number of excel calculations to see this. Why is this not standard? I feel this is a fundamentally essential piece to time approval. If you could set up the grid the same way Field Time was, with the employee and their totals on one line and then expanded it shows each day entered under it, including hours entered for that employee for any other job, it would be quite a useful and helpful tool.
And if you could change the layout to be vertical instead of horizontal, more like Field Time was (see picture), that would rock.

We also submitted a suggestion to see the total hours by employee and equipment on Job approval tab. Our supervisors have to manually add all the hours for their crews which can have 100+ lines as they could work on multiple jobs on the same day. When they scrolling down through 100+ lines, they system performance is so slow that makes it almost impossible to properly review and approve. Having the total hours will make it much more effective.

I'll review this with the dev team and see what they think the effort behind it might be so we can then plan out when to do it. Do you post payroll job cost at the end of the pay period or daily?
Have your supervisors or approvers seen the Timecard Approval screen to see if they prefer that view?
