Remove Clone Future Timecard priority

We recently received the 1.20.12 portal update and this has allowed the cloning of FUTURE timecards to be the top priority in the clone timecard dropdown. I am not really certain WHY anyone would want to (or COULD) clone a future timecard, but this change has raised chaos with our users who do clone their timecards. Please make the top of the list be the PREVIOUS timecards, so they show up if I want to have many future timecard batches open.

I agree that this makes no sense and has also cause loads of calls about timesheets not working. I have to tell them how to do this and that it is actually doing what you are asking by cloning a future pay period that has no data. It is copying nothing so it is actually doing what you are telling it to. We open 3 pay periods ahead for PTO purposes. Not sure if this was initial design in our on prem environment or if it was modified in some way but now that we are VPOone based this is just one of several issues that are coming up. You should absolutely have the option to disable to show future pay periods for cloning.

    Hi Ken,

I agree we shouldn't be showing any future timecards to clone from since that doesn't any sense lol

It does look like you are using a nontypical setup with allowing the portal to create so many portal batches in the future. Why are you opening so many PR Timecard Entry batches for future pay periods? If you want to chat about it in detail, find a time I'm available here: https://calendly.com/markcadman/30

    Thanks!

    Hi Mark,

I agree. I sounds fishy. I have attached a document with screenshots. We usually have the portal open future pay periods for the whole year, it's just easier that way. I also only like to allow employees to choose from the last few timecards. With the new portal configuration, it is putting FUTURE pay periods at the top of the dropdown, so it was not showing the previous pay periods. I had to fiddle with a couple of the settings to allow the previous periods to show, but it seems that the previous periods should be the priority in the list (Sort oldest to newest).

    Thanks

    Hey Ken,

This sounds fishy. Can you add a screenshot so I can see where this is showing up for users? Do you have future timecard batches open?

    Thanks!
