Within the Field Tools->Equipment Dashboard it would be great to provide an Equipment Service Request that would generate a request for maintenance or service of a piece of equipment and send it to our shop. Currently, all requests for service are made by telephone calls which are more timely and prone to errors. The underlying structure seems to be in place within the Field Tools platform...we just need the actual request piece built out for service instead of just requesting a piece of equipment. This request could kick off a work order once it was received by the shop personnel and then be assigned to a mechanic or service tech. But the main need is for a field employee to be able to request the service when they see a piece of equipment that has a problem or needs service.

Agreed this would be very helpful to let the shop know when a peice of equipment needs serviced, but also keeps them in the loop without creating a work order automatically until they approve it
Agreed, there should be a way to create a "ticket" into an Equipment Manager. They can then determine whether to create a work order for service or remove that piece of equipment entirely from the fleet.
Also, the ability for people to add notes to a piece of equipment would be nice as a history. For example, you could note that a special key is needed and maybe the location, or that specific parts are needed to operate correctly.
Ultimately though, there should be an Equipment Manager dashboard that allows people to create tickets that the Manager than can determine course of action.
