Our employees are using Keystyle to manage their payroll withholdings; however, Keystyle currently does not have a space (nor field) for our employees to select/write that they are “Exempt” from withholdings. The instructions on the IRS Form W-4 state that “to claim exemption from withholding, certify that you meet both of the conditions above by writing “Exempt” on Form W-4 in the space below Step 4(c).”, so we’re asking that a functionality be added to the electronic Form W-4 within Keystyle to allow our employees to select/write “Exempt” under Step 4(c). We would also ask that this update be interfaced with Vista (i.e. HR and Payroll), so we no longer must perform manual overrides for employees claiming to be exempt. Lastly, we would ask that Keystyle automatically prompt those employees that claimed exempt in a given year, to re-claim and re-certify this exemption at the start of each new year, as a new Form W-4 has to be submitted by February 15th of each year for an employee to retain their exemption.

Hi Nick,
Your first 2 suggestions should already be available in the web portal today. Can you review the web portal your team has in the test environment and confirm that is working as you would expect?
Your last suggestion would be a little trickier. Would you like to see a home page banner for employees if they need to redo a W-4 to show exempt status?
This business need can be solved with email notifications setup in Vista. Do you think email notifications could work?
Thanks!
