In order for the Approval Flags to show up properly, you must refresh the portal synonyms every day. This should either happen automatically or at least be made available for you to choose that setting.

It does not and your support page lists the refresh synonyms as one of the fixes for this which is why making it happen automatically would be a lot easier than me needing to log in every morning to make it happen.

The Approval counts and Flags should only update when a user logs. If these are ever not updated, logging out and back in should update them for your users.
