Employee’s leave approvals to be made known to other managers she has a dotted line to, which are not necessarily approvers of her leave

Employee’s leave approvals to be made known (via auto-notifier) to other managers she has a dotted line to, which are not necessarily approvers of her leave. We only want one leave approver for her, not multiple. Is their a way to achieve this?

    Hi Joanna,

The specifics of the workflow notifier can be customized by our Professional Services team. Here's a link for creating a case they can use to give you a SOW: https://support.viewpoint.com/s/submit-a-case?defaultCaseType=ProfessionalServices

    Thanks!

    Thanks, Mark.

Yes, we do save approved time-off requests in HR Resource Schedule. Will the workflow notifier work in such a way that each time an approved time-off is saved for a particular user, the dotted-line managers receive an email? How does the system determine who the dotted-line managers are? Will the notifier be setup with the names of the dotted-line managers?

    Hi Joanna,

This is something we most likely won't be adding in any time soon, but there should be a way to do this in Vista through workflow notifiers. Are you currently saving the approved time off requests to Vista's HR Resource Schedule?

If so, this should be possible. Our Professional Services team can help create this for you if you need any help.

    Thanks!

    Thanks, Mark.

The users (dotted-line managers) who now have view access to the employee's time-off calendar (through Approval Permissions, "Can View Time-off Calendar") need to get an email when leaves are approved by the approver. Emails are a good prompt, considering that it is unlikely for these dotted-line managers to intentionally search through the employee's calendar.

    Hi Joanna,

It is possible to setup users to be able to see another employee approved leave without being an approver for that employee, but we don't have any notifiers setup for users that are not approvers. Do your users need to be able to see the time off requests or do they need to get an email?

    Thanks!
