From our field:
“Sight lines” or bold/different colored separation lines based on the “ordered” column when entering time. For instance, the standard sort is alphabetical based on the employee’s name; a bold line would be placed all the way across the grid between rows of different employees. If the grid was sorted by a different column, the lines would be placed on that column’s values, say by equipment, phase, job, etc.
This would make the sorts more useful, especially when dealing with a large number of lines. It would make it easy to see at a glance if all the labor and equipment that should be charged to a phase have been entered, or that a piece of equipment has been charged to all the phases it was used for, etc. It would also be very helpful if several columns have been expanded the whole grid isn’t visible on a display screen.
