Batch Timecard Move by Work Date

Description:

Alstar Oilfield Contractors’ process is to use Daily Grid Timecard Templates, submit time daily and to move daily approved time to a different batch for Payroll to post and further process the time in Vista.

As a result, being able to move only time from a specific date is required. The Batch Timecard Move does not have the work date (PRTB.PostDate) as a parameter to move hours from a Portal Batch to the one to be used by Payroll in Vista.

Also refer to KDS-I-1395

Suggestion:

Please add the ability to select PostDate or the date the work hours are entered for as a parameter in the Batch Timecard Move, so that we can move time on a daily basis.

The parameter is to behave like the Select Employee field:

  1. All PostDates to be displayed in drop-down

  2. [Select All] button

  3. [Select None] button

  4. [Reset] button

  5. Ability to select a single date or multiple dates

  6. The drop-down sizes accordingly and provides a scroll bar when necessary

Insert the “Select Work Date” at the third step, (Step 3:)

    Hi Richard,

We added this to the web portal in our 21.8 release!

    Hello:

In addition to using the Template to control what gets added to the Batch Move, we also want to ask to Lock and Template for which time has been moved.

The purpose of moving time daily is to Post it in Vista and run the PR Ledger to justify Costs daily and report them to our customers. We don't want them to change once Posted.

If I moved time from Monday's template, I do not want anyone to be able to go back to Monday and enter time again, thereby forcing me to re-post time for Monday.

Lock the Monday or in our case if the first Monday that one, if the second Monday that one.

I think that could work as well: i.e.: Our templates run daily from Day 1 to 14; 01 Sunday to 14 Saturday.

    Hey Richard,

The other suggestion for modification to the Batch Timecard Move page is looking at the timecard templates instead of the post date. Would the Template also work for your needs instead of by post date?

    Thanks!
