It would be great if we could make the HR portal more like an Intranet page. For instance a Links section for hyperlinks to sites employees need access to, being able to group announcements (like corporate discounts or HR related announcements vs safety announcements or company news). It might make the front page busier but everything could be one click away instead of a long guess and a couple of clicks away.
