User Audit

HFF needs a report for Administrators to run to audit employee usage. Since we pay for the product based on the number of licenses we should be able to audit what employees are using particular functionality (ie. HR, timecard, daily report, invoice approval, etc.) This would make it easier to manage licenses.

We were looking at a report of who is running our SSRS Reports and found the ReportAudit Table that wasn't being used. We wondered if Trimble had plans for that table. We opted to create our own thing by creating a User Defined Table in Vista, creating a Stored procedure that would stored the Company, PREmp and Report Name along with the date and time accessed. This required we add the parameters to all our SSRS Report Stored Procedures in the Portal.

    Hi Chris,

I'm going to move this from Shipped to Future Consideration since the new licensing report only helps you see who's currently licensed to use the portal. We may do something similar that you are requesting in the future, but I'd like to see how the community feels about this audit since it would take a considerable amount of development effort to add in.

    Thanks for the quick feedback!

    Mark,

Thanks for your quick response. I think it would be very helpful to know when was the last time they accessed say daily logs, field tickets, ap invoice review. I know I can go into User Access and see the last time someone was in the portal, but this new audit report only lets me know what I have given them access. They may access the portal to see paystubs, but not use it for anything else, thereby using an unnecessary license.

    Hi Chris,

This report displays the current user count status anytime you run the report. So it will list all of your HR, FC, and FM users by name and the access they have been given that explains why they are being counted for a license.

    Mark,

Will this new report show the last time they accessed a particular function or will it just show what they have been given access?
