When creating a Pending PO “description” is required in the header section.
This automatically populates all additional line items with the same description entered in the header.
We would like this field to be non mandatory and to not automatically populate all additional line item descriptions. As there would never be a scenario where we would have the same description on multiple lines and this may cause errors if implemented as is.

Michael - I don't see that Vista populates the header description to the line detail. The line level description field is the description associated with the material code, and it populates once the material code is selected. See screenshots attached. We would prefer that the PO header description not populate to the PO detail lines. Thanks!!!

The Description field found on the pending po header does not show up on our POs when we generate them, because of that this is just an internal notes field for us. But because the header description field auto populates line item descriptions using it for notes is also not useful. Leaving this blank would be ideal but it is currently required.
If this doesnt make sense i would love to schedule time to show you via webex. This is our largest hurdle to implementation at this time.

The default behavior in Vista is to use the header description in po to the line detail. It sounds like you would prefer the item line description to be blank.
Regarding the desire to not require a description of a po, can you describe this. I'm not sure how a po could be useful if it doesn't have a description.
