Vista provides the ability to make phase codes inactive, which prevents PR from posting time to those codes. However, the time entry programs in HR/Field management still show those phases which results in PR posting errors if they are selected on a timesheet. I can't see any reason why an inactive phase code should show in the portal list given that payroll can't process it anyway. Please update the filter to remove inactive phases (the same logic would apply to purchase orders - I didn't test).

The problem with going to professional services is that it costs AT A MINIMUM hundreds of dollars. We paid for you guys to set up a UD lookup for us for timecards and later, we had to update ONE thing on it and it cost another $187 AFTER we paid about $1000 for you to set it up in the first place. I agree. This should be either a portal setting or something that is baked in.
Hi Shawn,
I just checked this functionality in Purchase Orders and it looks like we are already limiting those to only active phases. For timecards, you may want to also limit phases to only labor cost types as well as limiting to only active phases. UdLookups have this flexibility and allow for a lot more custom logic. Our PS Tech Services team can help you write one of these even if you don't have the UD module in Vista. Would you like me to have them reach out to you for a SOW?
Thanks,
Already exists seems like a very poor response to someone who doesnt have the ud module. This is a come on already type of request why would Viewpoint even defend the functionality of providing inactive phase codes for time entry when they will cause payroll errors in posting? Sorry this does not make sense to this guy. Seems like a pretty simple option in Keystyle admin to exclude inactive phase codes from timesheet lookups (same logic would/could/should apply to phases for purchase orders too).

Hi Shawn,
In our timecard module, we support most udlookups added to PR Timecard Entry. You can create one today that could limit the phases available in the timecard lookups.
Our Professional Services team can help you create one of these lookups on a T&M basis. If you are interested, you will just need to create a case on the Viewpoint portal.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
