Request-when we have a rehire and use the onboarding in Keystyle.
It makes the employee active, however it is not removing the termination date from the employee file.
Response from Viewpoint: learned from our development team that this is working as intended. The Termination Date field is not cleared so that you still keep a record of that date, but this shouldn't affect the employee's "Active" status or access to the portal.
Response-It does not effect the employee from being paid or having access to the portal. It does create an issue when you are looking at employees with a blank termination date while running other reports. I don’t think that the record should be saved in this manner for history. We have employees that come and go several times a year, so the last termination date doesn’t really help as the employee could have multiple termination dates.
I would think that you would have a different way to save the data so that you had the complete history and not just the last termination date.

It is not causing a payment issue. It does cause an issue when you are looking at a payroll current employees list that has a term date in it.
We track comings & goings via HR Resource Employment History. We created naming convention for codes where we're able to filter history for hire & term dates for purposes of query or reporting.
We use the RecentSeparationDate (which admittedly exists only in PR-PREH), to store the employee's "Last" Term Date, and we (much like the original post here), always clear the standard Term Date field for anyone not currently Termed. We generally rely on the data in the Term Date field as much as we do the Status field to determine if someone is Termed or not .
Hi Sharon,
Since other customers may be using the Terminated Date to store that history I'd like to see how the community feels about this change of behavior. Thanks for posting!
