When many men are on one job, certain foreman need to be responsible for certain employees. If that employees joins another crew for a day, then the foreman on that other job should be able to approve that employee's time. As it is, a foreman can either see and approve all time cards by default, or see only their own direct reports. Our company would like to be able to have a foreman's direct reports (based on employee groups) selected by default when opening job time approval and to be able to select employees from other groups in case another employee was under their watch on a certain day.

Hi Sam and Greggory,
It's not uncommon for portal users to configure both the Job Time Approval and the Manager Based Approval (setup on the Approval Permissions page). Your foremen could approve by employee and your super could approve by job. Do you currently have your foremen setup with both? I'd like to see what the rest of the community think about the idea of allowing approves to manager their own groups.
Thank you
By both approvals do you mean the foreman approving their crews time and then the super approving time for the entire job? Currently if time is approved once then it drops out of the job time approval portal. Having a second check is like I just described is another feature that we would like to employ but not the issue Sam is describing.
We would like foreman to by default have just their direct reports populate their job time approval screen. In times where our teams are fluid though, we would like the foreman to have the ability to add or drop unapproved time cards from their Que to represent who was working under them that day. Does that make sense?
Mark,
What do you mean by both approvals? Yes we are using the Approval Permissions page with employee groups set up both for the foremen and direct reports.
Thanks.
Hi Sam,
Are you currently using the Approval Permissions page to setup the direct reports and Job Approval for the foremen's job? Are your foremen using both approvals?
Thanks!
