If you leave the AP reference field blank when posting an Expense Batch, it auto-generates an AP Reference number with "Vendor#-#', where the second number is the number of blank batches you've posted for this vendor for the selected month.
However, any company that uses the option to Prevent duplicate AP References will get an error and find this feature unusable. While this works for the first month, any subsequent month, you will get an error that the AP Reference number is already in use when trying to post the batch in Vista.
If the Auto-increment of the # value would take into consideration of All Months, instead of only the selected period, then this feature would work for everybody.
Please make auto-incremented AP Reference numbers unique across batch months.
Please see issue 73972 and follow up case 1743962 where the fix was only half finished because of this.
