Add Standard and Grid Timecards to Manage Lookups

The user entering time can cause Batch Validation errors in Vista if he adds time to a phase that does not have the appropriate Cost Type in the Phase.

 

The ability to only present phases with suitable cost types for labour would go a long way.

It would reduce user errors.

It would reduce rework by Payroll.

It would increase efficiency.

It would increase usability of both the standard and grid timecards.

 

And most important, it would make me happy.

 

So when can I expect to see it?

    As a use story:

    As a Supervisor and grid timecard user, I want to enter time by Job and phase so that I can quickly enter my time and that of my crew.

    Acceptance criterion:

    • I only see open or soft closed jobs.
    • I only see phases associated with the job selected.
    • I only see phases that relate to labour as  per the phases'  Cost Types in Vista.

     

    As a Timecard Admin, I want to create a Lookup that filters out phases I decide on based on the phases' Cost Type, so that my users only enter time against appropriate phases.

    Acceptance Criterion:

    • I can create a lookup on both the Standard Timecard and the Grid Timecard.
    • I can apply the lookup on the Phase field in these cards.
    • I can modify the lookup when I want.
    • I can delete the lookup when I want.
