In the system we used prior to Vista (Altec/Doclink) there is a check review workflow created as there are different levels for approvals/signatures: CFO Review/Subcontractor Compliance/Final Signature by President or COO. Once the CFO Reviews it, he approves it by placing a stamp on it hits send, it is electronically moved to Subcontractor compliance where they can approve it or place it on hold for noncompliance. After cleared it is electronically moved to the Presidents or COO bucket for approval/signature.
Accounting is able to see where a check is at anytime and able to tell a vendor is their check is on hold and inform them of who they can speak to about it.
